Ladybug Festival

Ni Hao Kai Lan has an episode where they are going to the Ladybug Festival- and this was on this morning. I had debated taking them to the fair- (our county fair is here) and asked the girls if they wanted to go to the Ladybug Festival tonight with Aunt Jen and Haley. The response was an overwhelming yes- so off we went.

The "Little's" are not tall enough to go on the big rides- but they did go on the cool kiddie rides. They went on the Teacups with their cousin Haley- and the Caterpillar (all by themselves). They also went on the Dragon Express - a little roller coaster that required one the big people to ride with them. All of us went on the Ferris Wheel- and the girls had a great time calling down to the passersby- "Hi peoples"

We went for a fair dinner- of hot dogs, bbq, and french fries. We had the delicacy that only a fair can produce- deep fried oreos. (I missed the Twinkies- but I am going to try one)

We ended the night with a stroll through the animals- ducks, chickens, bunnies, sheep, pigs and goats. There was a little guy with a monkey in a dress- that would shake your hand and give you a kiss for a dollar. Moose was all about doing that- took the dollar and walked right up to the monkey. Goose was not getting anywhere near the monkey. The petting zoo (not a lot of petting) had cows, horses, and goats. What the girls wanted to pet- and we had a hard time convincing them they couldn't) was the Tigers- beautiful white tigers and the orange and black tigers.

Two very tired little girls walked back to the car- already asking when we could come back to the festival.

Two little girls that are sleeping now- dreaming of tigers and fair rides.
